Dear Thurgood Marshall Community,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter to you as the Principal of Thurgood Marshall Elementary School. It is truly an honor to be able to expand my presence in the Thurgood Marshall Family. As a former Thurgood teacher, I know firsthand what a special and valued place Thurgood Marshall Elementary is. For those of you that I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting throughout my years in the school district, it is a privilege begin working with you for the betterment of your child(ren).
I am planning to build a strong foundational relationship with staff, students and families of the Thurgood Marshall Community, along with reacclimating myself to the building. I wholeheartedly believe that all students deserve a high-quality education in a learning environment that is nurturing, accepting, and welcoming. This only can happen in a school community where the school staff and families work with one another for the betterment of each student. Because of this, there will be many involvement opportunities for families to be a part of “the work”.
I am truly excited, honored, and eager to serve the Thurgood Marshall Community in the role of Principal. I will be working for and with all families to ensure that all children have equal and equitable opportunities for success, both in and out of the classroom. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas that you would like to share. I am looking forward to establishing a personal, positive and supportive relationship with each and every family, student, and staff member throughout this school year.
Respectfully,
Dr. Lauren Schulze
